Armed Forces Nursing Service AFNS Joining Procedure

AFNS joining procedure with complete details is here. Follow the given procedure for Army Nursing Admission 2024 to become a commissioned officer in the Pakistan Army.

A candidate can join the AFNS course through two types of commission and the procedure and eligibility for both types of commission are different.

1. Permanent Regular Commission (PRC)
2. Short Service Regular Commission (SSRC)

Both types of commission joining procedures are described below in detail.

• AFNS Registration Starting Date: 29 May 2024
• AFNS Registration End Date: 30 June 2024

PAK Army Nursing Admission (After FSc Qualification)

Armed Forces Nursing Services joining through permanent regular commission. The guideline with a complete joining procedure is given below.

• Gender: Female Candidates can apply
• Age: 17 to 25 years
• Marital Status: Married, Unmarried, Widow/separated divorcee without any encumbrances.
• Qualification: Intermediate (FSc Pre-medical)
  • Matriculation with science 1st division (minimum 60% marks)
  • FSc (Pre-Medical) 50% marks with biology as a compulsory subject.
• Training:  Four years of BSc Nursing training at AFPGMI Rawalpindi.
• Nationality: Female citizens of Pakistan,
  • Domicile holder of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan.
  • On Final selection candidates with dual nationality will have to surrender nationality other than Pakistani.

AFNS Ineligibilities

The following are ineligible for AFNS Registration.

• Twice rejected by ISSB.
• Candidate Twice screened out by ISSB.
• Tested within 120 days (four Month) gap of the previous appearance in ISSB.
• A candidate who Dismissed/ Removed/ Debarred from any Govt Services including Armed Forces.
• Convicted in a Court of Law for any heinous offense (to be ascertained by the competent military authority).
• Declared permanently UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board (AMB).
• Medically unfit candidates ( due to Hepatitis B & C)
• Withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces college 0r from any Armed Forces institution on disciplinary grounds.
• A candidate who Withdrawn, discharged, resigned, or purchase of commission from any Armed Forces officers Academy, or from Training Institution on any ground.
• Already registered with Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) Islamabad

AFNS Selection Procedure 

A candidate has to pass through six initial stages at AS & RS to be shortlisted for the ISSB test

1. Online Registration or Registration at AS &RC. For Online Registration Click Here
2. Initial Test of Armed Forces Nursing Services course written/ Intelligence test. (Buy AFNS Guide Book for 100% Preparation)
3. Initial Medical Examination
4. Physical Test
5. Initial Interview at AS & RC
6. ISSB Form filling and submission at AS&RC

Shortlisted candidates from AS & RC will receive notice for ISSB Test through the website as well as call up latter at the home address of candidates mentioned in their ISSB form.

• ISSB Test & Interviews. (ISSB test preparation & guideline)
• Final Medical Examination. (Final Medical)
• Selection by GHQ on the overall performance of the candidates. (AFNS Joining Final Merit List)
• The Selected Candidates will have to undergo the training period of four year BSc Nursing at AFPGMI Rawalpindi.

Required documents are.

• Attested photographs 2x (passport size)
• 2x attested photocopies of each educational certificate and domicile.
• Candidates must bring original certificates at the time of written test / Interview.
• 2x attested photocopies of National Identity Card /  Form “B”

AFNS Short Service Regular Commission (SSRC) Joining

Armed Forces Nursing Services joining through Short Service regular commission. The guideline with a complete joining procedure is given below.

• Gender: Female Candidates can apply
• Age: 18 to 28 years
• Marital Status: Married, Unmarried
• Qualification: Trained Nurses with the following certificates
  • 3 Years Diploma & 1-year Midwifery.
  • BSc Generic Nursing
  • Post (RN) BSc Nursing.
• Training: Four-week basic military training at AFPGMI Rawalpindi.
• Nationality: Female citizens of Pakistan,
  • Domicile holder of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan.
  • On Final selection candidates with dual nationality will have to surrender nationality other than Pakistani.
